U15 Rush End Tourney On High Note

OAKVILLE, Ontario - Win wise the U15 Saskatchewan Rush Junior lacrosse team didn’t finish up the Junior National Lacrosse League Tournament in Oakville, Ontario in playoff contention but the precious goals they scored were celebrated as tournament winners.

It was a tough weekend for the U15 Rush team - which included five Moose Jaw players - but despite the losses the team never gave up.

The U15 squad would drop the last two games to end up with a 1 - 5 tournament record.

GAME FOUR - U15 Saskatchewan Rush - 1 U15 Junior Knighthawks - 17

The U15 Junior Rush found themselves up against some very tough competition against the U16 Junior Nighthawks.

The Knighthawks would outshoot the Rush at just over a 2 - 1 margin. The Knighthawks had 57 shots versus the Rush with 25 shots.

Statistically Moose Jaw would factor on the game sheet as Moose Jaw’s Joseph Jackson scored the Rush’s lone goal unassisted at 16:08 of the second half.

GAME FOUR - U15 Saskatchewan Rush - 1 U15 Junior Roughnecks - 19

The U15 Rush Juniors finished up the tournament against a very strong Roughnecks team who took advantage of a very tired Rush team.

The U15 Rush Juniors managed to break the goose egg when Swift Current’s Jasper Baan scored on a penalty shot.

The Junior Roughnecks were penalized for having too many players on the field.

The time of the penalty shot goal was 18:55 of the second half.

Despite the disappointing tournament result the players took part in a skills portion of the tournament - where they learnt new techniques - and made a lot of new friends in lacrosse in Canada and the United States.
