Canucks U18 AA Lose The Longest Game Ever

Playing under the lights adds a different dimension to baseball but for the Moose Jaw U18 AA squad it took on a lengthy meaning on Tuesday evening.

After a four and a half hour game - which undoubtedly ran up the electricity bill - the Canucks lost 26 - 25 to the Regina Pacers in a game with two extra innings.

The Canucks collected 15 hits while the Pacers managed to collect 17 hits in the high scoring affair.

The game was scheduled to get underway at 8:30 pm at Currie Field in Regina.

The Canucks were up 4 - 0 after the first inning.

Moose Jaw scored their first run on a wild pitch scored one run.

Zayden Anderson would single driving in two runs.

A Spencer Craig single rounded out the inning scoring a run.

The second inning saw the Canucks continue where they started adding to their lead.

The score at the end of the Canucks at in the second inning was 6 - 0 in Moose Jaw’s favour.

The Pacers would however score six runs at the bottom of the second inning to tie the game.

The fourth inning saw Canucks taking what seemed like a commanding 16 - 7 lead when they scored nine runs.

However the Pacers would score six runs on three hits in their part of the inning to make the score Canucks 16 and Pacers 13.

The Pacers would tie the game in the bottom of the sixth inning.

The Canucks had a strong ninth inning in what seemed like a game winning scoring spree. The score was Moose Jaw 25 - 21.

But in the bottom of the inning the Pacers struck hard against the Canucks managing to score five runs and a 26 - 25 victory on the last play of the game.

The Canucks next game is Saturday in Weyburn when they face the Warhawks.
