CTA Decision In Its Entirety

After an impasse negotiating with Canadian Pacific/Kansas City (CPKC) over cost sharing the work necessary for the Fourth Avenue Bridge (Thunderbird Viaduct) the City in the Spring of 2023 applied to the Canadian Transportation Agency (CTA) to arbitrate a solution.
The City sought CPKC pay 50 percent to the project while CPKC declined to pay anything while acknowledging the worst case scenario for the Railway was 15 percent.
In December 2024 the CTA’s decision supported CPKC’s position.
