Meet Your Candidates - Doug Blanc

I was raised in Moose Jaw and married my wife Vicki (Glassford), also raised in Moose Jaw.

I attended  elementary school,  high school along with STI ( currently Politechnic ) in Moose Jaw.

My wife and myself  have 3 children and 2 grandchildren.

Our  one daughter and both grandchildren reside in Moose Jaw.

I worked for Ministry of Highways for 28 years.

I was an elected member of SGEU including 4 years as President and approximately 9  years as vice-president.

After Provincial Government I accepted a full-time position as an advocate for members on disability claims and bargained many collective agreements.

I also farmed during this time.

During my  previous work with Provincial Government I sat on a Deputy Minister  sub committee on three different occasions.

I also sat on the Thundercreek local school board for 10 years.

I was a member of John Howard Provincial board for a period of time. 

During my tenure on City Council I have represented the citizens of Moose Jaw on Moose Jaw Police Commission  for four years ( two years as vice chair), Moose Jaw Exhibition Board, Moose Jaw Museum  & Art Gallery,  Parks & Recreation committee and Roads and  Infrastructure Committee.

My past experience has given me the ability to deal with budget constraints and complex issues.

I have  attended numerous meetings as Moose Jaws representative. 

I have the time, experience and ability to represent all citizens of Moose Jaw and would be honoured to represent everyone on City Council for the next four years.
